bill-peterson-portfolioA native born Angeleno, Bill Peterson found his trumpet took him into the US Air Force, to UCLA, to all the clubs on the Sunset Strip, to the Cal Neva Lodge, to the Coconut Grove, the Hollywood Bowl, and into studio work doing film scores & record dates. He also played for Hanna Barbera Studios, where he also wrote cues and themes for various shows. He continues to be active, playing with a Nonet of Los Angeles based players alongside Plas Johnson, the master tenor saxophonist with whom Bill played many record dates & shows.

As President of Professional Musicians Local 47, he inaugurated the musicians Referral Service and developed Studio 47. His book about his experiences as a trumpeter, titled, “SHOW BIZ FROM THE BACK ROW” is now available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com and hispublisher, Xlibris. The list of famous people he has played for ranges from Nat ‘King’ Cole to Madonna and from Sinatra to Streisand. His band band experience includes being an original member of Si Zentner’s band, and stints with Dick Stabile, Stan Kenton, Louie Bellson & Harry James, and he has stories about all of them…
